This is ALTER EGO: Stories Beyond the Curves, my undergraduate thesis, featuring 15 stories of plus-sized individuals translating both their inner struggles and triumphs with their weight by using creative photography techniques.

I have placed the layout of the book in a minimalist manner, so as to provoke the readers' emotion while reading. Also, most of the target market surveyed preferred to have a 'classy' look for such a book.

I followed a format of presenting not only the struggles and triumphs of the individuals, but also a 'fashion layout' to introduce the readers to the individual and their personality. Also for the readers to have a 'fashion guide' to dressing up and posing.

 

I have decided to put this as I have collected data from my research that my readers would very much appreciate such. Also, so as to inspire my readers to go out and dress up and pose however they like, so they can feel comfortable in their own skin.

Some of the stories featured in the book are in Filipino and English.

As this is my undergraduate thesis for my Fine Arts major in Advertising Arts degree, I had to make a campaign to sell the book.

 

I would have loved to have met the famed duo, so as I can get their opinion unto my thesis. Unfortunately, communication during my thesis production didn't go well, so I had to utilize a stock photo I found online.

 

Other than a major photo exhibit featuring my photographs, the following items are created by me, with the aid of stock images from the internet. The items are a simulation of possible collaterals for my book launch. The collaterals include canvass bags, tumblers, stickers / bookmarks, and lanyard design.

After the year I have worked with this project, I can say that I'm satisfied with my output. However, I would like to be able to push this project further --- with deeper and better stories, from bigger and fuller plus size individuals and maybe even more outrageous and crazy creative photo shoots. 
Overall, I'm glad I'm able to bring the edge to the curve with this project.
