Venti porte per Catania
L’artefatto racconta la storia, compresa tra il 1500 e 1700, delle 20 “porte di catania”, che erano vie d’ingresso alla città, attraverso la cinta muraria.
L’idea è stata di ricostruire la vecchia cinta muraria, con i rispettivi ingressi e nomi, partendo dalla texture di “porta garibaldi”, al fortino, per celebrare una delle poche porte rimaste.
Twenty doors for Catania
The artwork tells the story of twenty Catania doors during the years 1500s to 1700s. They were entries through the city walls. The idea was to rebuild the old city walls with their several entries and names, from the “texture” of Porta Garibalsi through the ‘Fortino’, to sing the praises of one of the few remaining old doors.
