Unexpected design on the boundaries of manufacturability. This was the philosophy behind the 2015 Caracalla Product Design competition which required a new design approach to traditional faucets.

During the concept development of Move I was focusing on efficient water consumption. With an ordinary faucet you can usually set two options: Temperature and water flow but not the exact amount of water that you need. By developing Move my goal was to create a faucet which is able to set the water amount while keeping all tactile handling elements from ordinary faucets like pushing-pulling, levering or rotating.

The top of the faucet is a magnetic sensor. On top of it there is a magnetic disk which connects the user with the system.
The surface detects the position and the rotational movement of the disk.
The disk doesn't require electricity - It can be taken off and cleaned easily.
Because of the electronic system the two end points of the water amount can be set when the faucet is being installed which gives freedom to the user’s needs. For example the smallest amount can give you only 2 liters which is enough for a quick handwash, while the biggest amount can give you 150 liters which is enough to fill a bathtub. After the pre-set amount of water comes out the water flow stops automatically, therefore you don’t have to touch the faucet with wet hands.
