Scandi Interior design for semi-detached house
Basingstoke, UK
Young couple bought a house in a beautiful area located near Basingstoke, UK. Both hardworking, ambitious and very active young people wanted their house to be welcoming, cozy and at the same time modern, fresh and minimalistic. Meet Nina & Ben, an amazing polish-british couple, so different and so alike at the same time. Working with them was a pleasure and a challange!
Nina knew from the beginnng what she wanted, he well... said whatever Nina wants. It soon came out that Nina is in love with simple, minimal but contemporary design. My first thought was Scandinavian style and it turned out to be a perfect match. Why? Because scandinavian interiors are centered around clean lines, simplicity, warm functionality and most importantly on understated elegance. Excatly what Nina & Ben were looking for. Additionally their house is sunny what was ideally because the use of light is very important as it brings out energy. Whats more scandinavian interiors are characterized by the use of eco-friendly materials, earthy muted and grey tones and absolute minimal ornamentation. Perfect, right? Thought so too.
Their master bedroom is only one space in the entire house that's in little darker colour scheme. It was important for the owners to have more elegant look in bedroom.
When it comes to guest bedroom its different in character than master bedroom. Its delicate, more feminine in light pastels scheme with white furniture. One of the most interesting decorations in this room is massive mirror in beautiful, old gold frame. All comes together beautifully creating modern yet cozy bedroom.
