I had a lot of fun doing this little project. I was always fascinated by the stains left behind by coffee, with its rich brown colouring and subtle texture, and the ring effect left behind after the stains were left to dry. It seems unique in comparison to any other beverages, especially maybe wine, which also gives a similar effect.

 

I experiment using black coffee and objects (mugs and ruler). After creating enough samples, I scanned the resulting coffee texture and manipulated the coffee texture into typography using Photoshop.
