Bavarian Meats is a premium sausage kitchen and purveyor of fine charcuterie. Opening in 1961, the German-rooted, Seattle-based, delicatessen has built a legacy on preparing and selling high quality German sausages and other meats both locally and nationally.
The brand strategy breaks away from the generic solutions that are typical of German-inspired meat shops by taking a more unique direction. Inspiration comes from the Bavarian coat of arms, German midcentury modernism, and dynamic typography to create a distinct brand system that involves print collateral, web interfaces, and packaging. Blending Old World German traditions of sausage making with a modern and contemporary visual identity the solution suites the Pike Place, Seattle location.
The lion, Max, is affectionally named after Max Hofstatter, founder of Bavarian Meats
