I feel that the 5% luxury tax on sanitary products is sexist and outdated. The subject of menstruation is often one which is not spoken about because of embarrassment and awkwardness and I wanted to tackle through this project. I wanted to create a visual identity that allowed women and men to feel comfortable and be able to publicly associate with.

The no. 5% logo is a combination of a deliberate association with luxury and to create juxtaposition with menstruation. To communicate this false sense of luxury, my degree show space was designed to look like a high end shop promoting these "luxury" items. Upon closer inspection people will realise that this is not the case. The patterns created for the packaging were influence by the sanitary products themselves and the shapes and patterns each created.
