I am a great admirer of the artist Alphonse Mucha and the movement of Art Nouveau.
The elements of this project were originally part of a package design piece I created in college. The goal was to create a design for a package that might be used in a zoo or aquarium gift shop that was designed using the style of a specific art period. I chose to design for an aquarium in the style of Art Nouveau, specifically after Mucha, due to the flowing fins of the Angel Fish as well as Squid and Jellyfish tentacles.
With this personal project, I chose to re-purpose my artwork from that project to create a poster much like those that Mucha created.
This project was created using Adobe Illustrator to trace the scanned art work that was drawn by hand, then brought into Photoshop CS5 to add colour.
