This years Leeds College of Arts BA (Hons) Graphic Design end of year show theme was colour, I chose to look at colour through nature, flora and typography. The direction for this brief was to try and encapsulate the exhibition's purpose which is to showcase the abilities of the students. Another design problem was how to engage the design with the emotions surrounding the exhibition through the design, as well as keeping in touch with my own personal interest in environmental design and nature. This led to the choice of the word ‘bloom’, it was chosen as this is how I feel as a designer that I am beginning to bloom and develop after three years at LCA, as are my peers and this years graduates at Leeds College of Art.
The steel frame minus the flora have since been donated and will go on to be used for the transformation of an unused outdoor space in Leeds.
