在台灣傳統百家工藝裡頭, 唯竹器最為與生活結合，從傳統傢俱、生活用品、工作器具之中，多少都能遇見竹器的身影。竹即君子，竹心空，虛心; 竹本固，堅定; 竹性直，正直; 竹節貞，氣節。選用保青竹保留原始色彩樣貌，結合傳統竹工藝製作程序，剖竹、削竹、彎竹、榫合; 手法來表現對竹材的尊重，善用竹材特徵並保留原始的美與創造使用感受，將之設計成凳椅，予以平靜放鬆之時感受屬於竹特有的四維。

In the past time of Taiwan, bamboo crafts were most commonly noticed in the traditional folk art, most kinds of utensils had made of bamboo. In our culture, bamboo had always been an image of gentlemen for Taiwanese people. Its characteristics of empty pipe, stable stand and straight joints, which can be explained as the meaning of humbly, firm, upright and integrity. In order to highlight the beauty of the raw material and emphasize the flexible strength of bamboo by using a unique design structure. Ching Chair No.2 was combined with traditional bamboo craft and modern manufacturing techniques. This stool was made by the Moso bamboo,which was processed in a special treatment to preserve the green color on the surface. Thus the stool can retain the original color and never fade. We intended to make the Ching Chair No.2 more friendly to people who use it as a reliable everyday furniture.

Structure

This project aimed to retain the best features of the Ching Chair but focus more on the comfort and sitting experience. We intended to make the Ching

Chair more friendly to people who use it as a reliable everyday furniture. In order to enhance the stability of the stool, we refined the design into a four-leg stool and from a close frame structure into a open structure. Moreover,the sitting area was greatly increased by the new shape of the bamboo. People can sit on Ching Chair No.2 at ease and enjoy the firm structure of Ching Chair No.2.

【清四維】是以【清轉合】為基礎進行改良設計的，我們創造了一種新的形式，為了提高生產能力與其使用穩定性，並降低生產過程中的技術難度。從竹結構的基本概念重新設計，每個竹結構只進行一次彎曲，降低整體製作失敗率。同時四支結構的形式增加了穩定性和座位面積，可以提供人體更多坐姿舒適感受。

Ching Chair No.2 is a redesign project based on the project Ching Chair, in order to improve the productivity and the stability. We aimed to create a new form of furniture that decrease the technical difficulty during the manufacturing process. Each feet of stool was bent only once in order to decrease the difficulty of manufacturing.
