DIONYSUS Packaging
DIONYSUS Premium Vodka is a project that was developed as part of the class Print Studio I at SCAD during spring quarter 2011.
Based on research about mythological creatures and deities, DIONYSUS was created as a premium vodka brand targeted to represent the taste of the world's most famous metropolis: New York City. Harvested and produced locally within the New York State, the vodka captures the true flavor of New York, making it an exclusive drink for both the city's professionals and the millions of visitors.
As a premium product, it was necessary to develop a packaging that communicated the exclusiveness and premium appeal through the used material, the craft and design. The bottle is sold as part of a wooden box that includes 2 glasses, two coasters, a CD and a brochure. The inside of the box is covered in black velvet, with a small pedestal for the bottle to rest on. on each side, the glasses are placed, with the two coasters laying underneath the bottle neck. The coasters are made from plexiglass, with the logo engraved in them. The CD contains lounge music to complete the atmosphere. The info brochure explains DIONYSUS' history and its premium demands.
The promotional packaging is intended to appeal to all senses, with the taste and smell of the vodka, the rich quality of the material for the touch and look, and the corresponding music mix for the sound.
The box is made from solid wood and features a panorama photo of the New York City skyline at night as the surrounding visual element.
The box includes a bottle of DIONYSUS vodka, two glasses, two coasters, an information flyer and a CD with lounge music.
The back of the bottle features a photograph of New York's skyline at night that can be seen from the front by looking through the bottle and the drink.
The pattern of the glasses references the shapes of the logo. Each glass is decorated with a humorous quote about drinking, such as "Never cry over spilt milk, it could have been vodka".
