Standing With Confidence: An Editorial Type Booklet

While studying Advanced Typography at BYU-Idaho, I created an informational booklet that explores the idea of “power posing” and how it helps people become more confident in themselves. The assignment was to experiment with expressive typography that helped convey the message in the body copy.

Using Amy Cuddy’s TedTalk, “How the Body Changes the Mind,” I designed a 22-page editorial that demonstrates what power posing is. The TedTalk referenced research that states that when posing in a powerful stance by expanding, making yourself big, stretching out, taking up space, and opening up you will feel more confident. The goal of this project was to use pacing and typography that visualized the idea of “power posing.” I did this through large, bold text and bright loud colors.

Take a minute to enjoy “Standing with Confidence” to learn how power posing changes lives.
