CHALLENGE
Two of Cincinnati’s architectural landmarks, Music Hall and The Union Terminal,
are in need of extensive restoration and repair. Landor was challenged to develop
a grassroots community activation that would drive broad-based, majority support
around the efforts to save these two buildings.
STRATEGY
We started by personifying the buildings, giving them a face and a voice that asked
the public to speak on their behalf. We created a platform for two way dialogue
between the buildings and the eco community and encouraged the public to share
their memories and stories of Music Hall and Union Terminal.
THE RESULTS
The work has received high praise from local community leaders including former
P&G CEO, John Pepper, who called it “a remarkably strong campaign...truly first class
work.” At the end, we won the vote, so Music Hall and Union Terminal will get help!
