The brief for this project was to "make a map or diagram that offers a new point of view about a familiar situation." This was all the information and guidance we were given other than that our final outcome didn't necesarily need to conform to the typical map format. I decided to look at my makeup and the amount spent and time taken with something so temporary. This is something so individual for every person, with others spending a lot more or less time and money. I created a series of different visual outcomes from collage to typography, to visually demonstrate the information I gathered from my own spending habits and from filming and timing myself in the morning. This project really helped me to see the true price of beauty.
