Design & production;

Wanting to create a stamp for printing business cards as it allows me to have more control when selecting materials and the amount being manufactured. Electing to only use off-cut materials which is considered to be waste material for the media when printing the cards, also for the actual stamp is wood selected was Jelutong for the block and Freijo for the handle.

Finished Product;

Being a sustainable designer I feel that some of what other designers are designing, printing and manufacturing items which are simply not needed for personal branding and stationary, and a very traditional approach. With digital elements taking over from letter heads and invoices, I have decieded against printing these. Instead I have designed and hand made a business card stamp.

The stamp which is designed not having any glue involved, which makes the stamp a much more environmentally friendly as well as being more transportable and more compact. With this I aim to create packaging which will also mean I can print as and when I need it. With the stamp it allows all business cards to be printed on any stock. I have printed a range of which are all on salvaged stock.

Packaging scamps & rendering;

Using the programme solidworks to mock up the dimensions of the packaging. With the packaing I am now able to have more options when visiting studios or portfolio reviews. With the packaing it completely removes the overprint problem.
The packaing will have three ports which will store the hande, stamp and low VOC ink.

Again not using any binding techniques but a simple pull up draw to access the stamp and ink. It will be made from Jelutong wood, known for not being listed in the CITES Appendices, and is reported by the IUCN as being a species of least concern. Making it a sustainable wood and one which is know for its pattern- making and carving, making it a very informed decision to use when carving further deatils and branding.
