The Five Senses is a star book that visually depicts the five human senses.

DEFINE: Star Book
A star book is a multi-layered book with five sides. The layers are such that the first layer has the shortest width with the proceeding back layers having increasingly larger widths. These varying widths cause the book's back layers to bend inward.
This view of the book demonstrates why this is called a star book.
This is a view of one of the five panels. Notice the ribbon present on the left side.
If you untie the ribbon from the previous image, you reveal the covers of the book.
In doing so you can change the view of the book from a star to a line and view all the five panels at the same time.
Instead of relying on traditional symbols to communicate each sense. I combined a human skull together with simple vector graphics. This includes imagery related to the sense and a supportive border around each skull.

The book itself consists mainly of transparencies and paper cut-outs.
