PLEASE DOWN DA MILK

Killing animals and eating meat have been significant components of human evolution that had a synergistic relationship with other key attributes that have made us human such as larger brains, smaller guts, bipedalism and language. But do humans respect the animals? It is ironic that many laws protect animals, but what about the way humans treat animals?

We buy all kinds of meat and dairy products in stores readily packaged for our convenience. In the past we had to hunt our own food to survive and sustain ourselves. It is interesting that this intimate interaction between the hunter and prey has been completely removed and instead we choose to accept that someone else to provide our needs from animals and thus we only get to see the processed carcasses. This appears to be the accepted way of life within our “educated” society.

More recently, animal rights have become one of the most popular topics with the focal idea being the challenge of changing people’s mind-set. Aggressive promoting of vegetarianism might be a solution, however by using a metaphor may be more appropriate; therefore being a more intensive approach to saving the environment.
The aim of this project is to create a campaign targeting everyone and educating people to reduce their consumption of dairy products. We need to share our planet respectfully and harmoniously with all the other species that live on it. We must also learn to live with what natural resources are available to us.
