'What A Carve Up' Book Jacket Design

The competition brief for Penguin Random House was to re-design the cover of Jonathan Coe's 'What A Carve Up'. The concept behind my idea was to reference to the book’s title with the two knifes, while using white space to create a link to Tabitha Winshaw, a main character of the book. Throughout the story Tabitha is particularly scheming until eventually killing herself and Michael Owen. I encapsulated this by using the two black knifes, one for each with the black resembling death. I received an award from Penguin Random House for this piece.
