For the art competition of the Mikser Festival, "Black Box", over 160 works were submitted from around the country and region.  Mikser, in cooperation with the Faculty of Applied Arts in Belgrade, chose 100 winning works from artists from Serbia,
Montenegro, BiH, Croatia, Austria, Belgium and Norway, which will be set up in the streets of Savamala during the Mikser Festival, from 3 to 7 June, as a collective installation.
The "Black Box" competition is an innovation in the artistic program of the Mikser Festival and will present a group exhibition / collective installation of works which investigates the intimate and collective feeling of anxiety caused by the inability of the individual to adequately express himself within his community, family, collective, academic or professional environment, in public and in the state. The “Black Box” competition, like the theme of the Mikser Festival - “Itch”, inspired artists to offer each other very different artistic solutions that range from impressive multimedia installations and interactive performances
to simple micro-interventions in the form of black boxes, precisely of the dimensions 60x60x60cm.

Being reduced to the limited space for intervention is easily compared to the nowness in which artists live and create, and where, despite narrowness in physical and metaphorical senses, they manage to express themselves through Art.

The collective “itch” that connects all of the authors implies at the same time a pleasant and unpleasant feeling and, consequently, there is always action that leads to a state of (positive) change?
These BB mobile model pedestals make it possible to set up the box (each black box is an autonomous artistic piece) in both indoor and outdoor space in different ways, depending on the wishes and needs of each artist behind each work.
Also, the boxes on pedestal are easily movable. The modular steel construction is light, mobile and breathable and does not visually burden the artist's installation.
The BB system is consisted of modules made out of steel rectangular profiles 30x20 mm, painted in black and light gray.
The steel modules have two different heights and each one can be mounted on top of the other. This enables the changing of the pedestal’s height (30-60-90-120 cm etc.)
The most significant specification of this design is that the whole is sturdy and stable while not needing any additional screwing in if modules are to be mended together for use. There for, the modules are easily decomposed into singular pieces.
Besides its original purpose, the BB modules can further serve as coffee tables, bar tables, stools, exhibition systems -
if on top of each frame a wood surface is to be added on.
