Kakawa - Brand Identity & Packaging

Kakawa is a newly established luxury chocolatiers which takes inspiration from the Mayans and their original discovery of the cocoa bean. 'Kakawa' is the name given to the cocoa beans by the Mayans - translating to mean 'Food of the Gods'. Cocoa beans were held as being extremely special on first discovery and were worshipped by the Mayans. The brand reflects this origin in creating luxurious chocolate goods made from the finest ingredients.The ethos of the brand is authentic, artisan and luxurious chocolate.  Kakawa is a celebration of chocolate.
The Products
Kakawa has a select range of products, all of which have their own individual and bespoke packaging to give each its own identity within the brand. The main products are at the chocolate bars. There are a variety of flavours, each of which can be purchased individually or in the two gift set boxes available - The Classical & The Definitive. The secondary product is luxurious dark chocolate truffles, which are transferred from a large jar to small boxes, perfect for a gift or snack. The final product available is Kakawa's rich and creamy cocoa powder, perfect for cooking.
The Definitive Gift Set
This set contains nine flavoured bars of chocolate, each with their own individual twist. Using combinations of  White, Milk and Dark chocolate, this box is an exciting mix of flavours and textures. The bars are stacked in this box, which is designed to show all flavours through a circular window, revealed when the wrap and top lid are removed.
The Classical Gift Set
This gift set is dedicated to Kakawa's Classic flavour range of chocolate bars - White, Milk & Dark. These classic flavours use the finest ingredients, creating a creamy and melt in the mouth texture for all to enjoy. To reflect the simplicity of these flavours, the bars are side by side in the box, revealed when the wrap, lid and patterend cover are lifted.
The Bars
Altogether there are twelve individual bars, nine flavoured and three classical. Each bar has its own individual colour, reflective of the flavour, creating a vibrant colour scheme. These are shown in the cocoa bean on the front of each box. The packaging for all individual bars is identical in design. All chocolate bars are wrapped in gold foil, and then placed in their own individual box. These boxes are designed for ease of use and have a single flap at the top, which slots into the back.
The Jars
The first of the jars is the cocoa powder - a rich and fine chocolately powder, perfect for home cooking. The second is the large jar of Artisan Truffles. These truffles are a devine dark chocolate, lightly dusted with cocoa powder for the ultimate of chocolate indulgences. These truffles are transferred from the jar into smaller gift boxes, perfect to take home or present as a gift.
The brand is brought to life in a simplistic and minimal fashion; with stationery using gold foil embossed on premium crisp white stock and duplexed business card and A5 cards with a brown textured back. The website is imaged based, creating a full screen experience to truly show off the richness of the products.
