Pet Bed Donation
For The Edmonton SPCA
Original Dimensions:
93.75cm X 56.25cm X 56.25cm

Medium:
Baltic Birch Plywood, water based acrylic paint and clear coat

Description:
This was a group project with a fellow class mate: Laila Steen. The Pet Bed is inspired by the architecture of the Architect Sou Fujimoto. Fujimoto describes his houses as Nests or Caves - the most basic form of shelter.  His designs are focused on connecting the inside with the outside by letting light penetrate the building through expansive windows.  Drawing on this we created a Pet Bed that is more like a house: a private shelter that gives the sense of enclosure while still being open and light, for your cats comfort and enjoyment. Cushions not pictured were remove-able and washable.

This was a charitable donation for the Edmonton SPCA "Pets In The Park" Auction in the summer of 2011.
