The basis for a retrospective screening of French New Wave film director Jean-Luc Godard is his non-linear approach to film making. The simplicity of the design is a reflection on Godard's plots, filming and directing techniques.
 
Avenir is the sole typeface that is used within the concept. Avenir means future in French, Godard's dislike towards 'big budget Hollywood' movies meant that he wanted to change the future of film. Avenir is also a reflection of the simple, yet stylish films that Godard directed.
 
The monochrome colour palette not only indicates Godard's predominantly black and white films but also the stylish and simple characters within them.

The poster is a stack of screenprinted poster that are torn along their perforated edge. Each poster displays a different word; Debut, Milieu and Fin; French for beginning, middle and end. There are no order and are reaveled in a non-linear fashion when the public tear of the posters.
