20 years ago I found with my brother old notebooks at our grand-mother's place. 5 notebooks from her father who fighted for French army around Verdun between 1916 and 1918. To share with all my family I decided to make digital files. Few years after, as the story was strong, I decided to make illustrations of this every day life nightmare. I put in the pictures some text in Occitan gascon, former language of the country I'm from around Bordeaux in south west of France.
