Shelter Scotland Foursquare

Shelter Scotland Foursquare Campaign

Shelter Scotland's eight Edinburgh shops were the first to trial the campaign, with the aim to highlight opportunities across the capital to bring a new lease of life to thousands of donated items. Visitors who check-in at the stores could collect exclusive badges – with each store having a unique design. As well as a more traditional 3 for 2 discount for "Newbies" and loyal customers.

Over 6 weeks I worked with Shelter Scotland to take their initial ideas for Foursquare and implement the campaign. Producing in store promotional materials, a Foursquare API integrated website and a cute stop-motion animation.
We produced this cute stop motion animation to provide an easily embeddable and shareable promotion. With a simple message, cute graphics and a catchy backing track we soon had blogs and news sites whistling along with the campaign.

As people explored our stores around the city, we used the Foursquare API to track which stores they had visited and make suggestions of where to go next.
We linked into the Foursquare API so that we could give a special thank you to our most loyal customers.
Visitors were encouraged to send in photos and stories to share the items they found in Shelter Scotland shops around the Edinburgh.
