A series of paintings and studies I've done over the year or so relating to the ongoing demolition of 60's tower blocks, or high flats, as they are known in Glasgow, going on near to my home.  

The method used to take down blocks when a full scale explosive demolition is not possible allows a look into what once were cherished homes. There's a  huge mechanical claw that delicately exposes one vertical stack of rooms at a time - it takes about a week to pick away each column, and as it does so the varied decorative tastes of the former occupants are gradually revealed.
