As part of the creative output for my honours dissertation project, the illustrations presented within 'Polaz', explore and translate my internal landscapes, informed by personal experience and memories, into a series of illustrations. Four books (Polaz being 2 of 4) featuring my illustrations were created and inspired by various autobiographical memories of environments, objects and happenings.
The practical component aims to provide the viewer with abstracted imagery of my own memories. This enables the viewer to explore my abstracted memories in their own manner as their understanding of the illustrations is shaped by their own past experiences.
