Amazing acts as a call out to young Anishinaabe people to remind them that they are amazing and that they are capable of doing anything - despite the barriers others might place in front of them. The video references a history of educational bias towards Native Americans, as well as the current day institutions and family situations that stack the odds against many young people finding success in their education.

Cecilia Martinez

Cecilia Martinez is 13 years. She lives in Nett Lake Village, a community of 100 people centered on the Bois Forte Reservation of rural northeastern Minnesota. Cecilia has been producing videos since the age of 7. Her work is dedicated to honoring her Anishinaabe culture and speaking to issues that impact the young people of her community.
