Day/Night Scene: Hanging Boy

These were the four sketches that I drew in my sketch pad with paper to come up with different compositions and ideas for the digital arts project that will have a focus on lighting. 
I then refined the line drawing by adding more detail to the background and drawing the picture in ink on vellum paper. The image was then colored with some textures. I was then challenged to create two concepts of how the lighting might look, and where the shadows could be placed. 
The first three iterations with the color/texture image and line drawing was combined with lighting in Photoshop. The lighting was not as realistic as I had wished so I worked the lighting even more to make the finals below
