Logo Project

For this project I drew out of a pile a noun, and a type of business. The words I ended up with are:

Texas Events Planning

Genie Marketing Company

Salon Carwash

Ultimately, this was a project to help me study shapes and combining two different things. They are pretty basic, and as the project progresses I learn how to more effeciently combine these things. My favorite logo out of my first batch is the salon for cars, I had the most fun with this one!

Now that we have experience in making our own logo out of random business and a random noun, we get to take work from a classmate and refine their concept. It was hard giving up my logos, wondering how they would hold up in the great big world. Ultimately, the idea is to take someone else’s work, and refine it. To do this, there is a process:
1) Survey at least 25 people to find out what they see when looking at the logo. First, we give them 3 seconds to take a guess, then we let them look for as long as they want. Once all the guesses are in, we tell them what they actually are. This is the fun ;art, because people love when they guessed right. They also love to have this “ah-ha” moment when they realize what the logo represents especially if they didn’t get it at first.
2) Make an info-graphic reporting our findings during the study.
3) Recreate the logo making refinements needed using the information collected during the survey.
