As sister of the groom-to-be, I helped plan the bridal shower to introduce his fiancé to my/his family and friends. Brenda, the bride-to-be, was interested in having themed-showers; her first one, hosted prior, was "Stock the Pantry". With some online research I concluded that a "Months" theme would be different yet fun for everyone in attedance.
At the time of developing the invitations, I didn't know the total number of people expected at the shower but I knew I wanted to randomly select which month people would need to bring gifts. After several versions I came up with the design pictured above where the month is marked by a hole punch. I was able to print and cut all the invitations myself and then punch a hole for the month.
The dark blue was the wedding color and I thought to emphasize this more with solid dark blue envelopes. To help explain the theme further I listed some gift ideas on the back of the invite.
I think the invitations turned out great and we're well perceived. The "Month of the Year" bridal shower was very enjoyable and I recommend it to anyone planning one in the future.
