I watch a lot of movies, especially the classic ones. When I can, I like to take screenshots while I'm watching. These screenshots make for great reference in my illustration work, but I felt I could utilize them more. This project began in 2017 as a means of exploring color and composition. Over time, it has evolved into a larger undertaking.
Each painting is on a small 3" x 4" piece of watercolor paper and painted in gouache. Enjoy the paintings and hopefully, you'll watch some of the movies and enjoy them too.

Many of the newer pieces are commissioned by other film fans. If you have a favorite film scene you'd like to see immortalized in a painting or another film-related project, I'd love to work with you.
