The Hepworth advert, NEST 2015

The brief
create an A5 printed advert encouraging people to come to the Hepworth gallery in wakefield. this advert would be printed in the new NEST  magazine that showcases creative talent from leeds college of art.
the main design concept came from the form the Hepworth gallery which is very in keeping with Barbera Hepworth's style. I traced the roofs and visible walls of the image above in the galleries colour pallet.
the form I had now created once again was reminiscent of Barabara Hepworth's work, in particular her square forms.
I then deconstructed the roof to make abstract shapes this created a larger more complex visual for the viewer to take in. A quite was added to the mix that gave the gallery positive endorsement it was placed at an angle that hinted to the angles of the galleries structure, it is a header font that is intended to be less impactful than normal header fonts, this allows for the shapes forms to take centre stage.
