Bio Couture is designed to be an exhibit where people can learn the process of how you can grow your own clothes out of living organisms. In order to further explain this process in a way that the audience would understand I created a growing wearables kit that would allow you to take part in the process. The kit included the ingredients needed to grow the material, a booklet on how you can do it at home and a poster.

When you grow your clothes out of living materials it creates a vegetable leather that is somewhat transparent and rich with fibers. Incorporating color into the garment is generally done with vegetable and fruit dyes rather than harsh chemicals. I chose to focus on this aspect when creating the identity for Bio Couture and use it as a way to further explore color and patterning within the project.
