I had to design a logo for a website called 'Yummy Healthy Bites' so I naturally gravitated towards images that are associated with a balanced, upbeat lifestyle.
While I was initially heading towards a more minimalist style, the client felt the need for a little texture to suggest organic, home-grown goods.
I tried out different typefaces and again the client preferred the one that had a little texture to it and felt that all-caps and sans-serifs were a little overpowering. Here I used Oswald Book, Nexa Rust Sans Black and Leander Regular.
After I refined the positioning of the logotype and the symbol, the final step was to create a custom favicon that would hold up well at small sizes while still retaining its original characteristics.
