6th Year : Bachelor Project - Student Hub
Over the past two decades, the global student housing sector has experienced rapid growth, fuelled by favorable demographic trends. The rise in student numbers has created strong demand for student housing, but universities were unprepared to react to the rise in enrolments and create adequate student housing; while at the same time their existing on- campus facilities became outdated. Instead the private sector responded to the strong demand, developing purpose-built acommodation aligned with student needs.
The Hub is based on three independent blocks, developed around a central core ( in this case a public square) that aims to become a major atractor in the area. The bloks assume the current student housing typology and adjusts it to meet the current standards.
