This is a practice design that is based from a brief on Briefbox.com [http://briefbox.me/design-brief/poster-layouts/cafe-menu-design/]. The goal is to design a new 2-sided lunch menu for a cozy restaurant that serves locally-sourced, organic food.
Design Inspiration
This is the current website which I used for inspiration.
I created this moodboard based on the restaurant's menu and location.
These are the given design inspiration ideas from the Briefbox website.
Design Process
I used the blue from the website because it's relevant to the word "river" in the restaurant's name. I decided to use a darker color as the background because it seems to suit the location of this restaurant and the restuarant's cozy, relaxed atmosphere. Finally, I chose yellow as the accent because of the various root vegetables in the menu.
I created this simple icon for the background. I chose radish because the restaurant serves a lot of root vegetables.
Final Design
This is the front of the menu.
This is the back of the menu.
This is what the menu would look like laminated and on a table. Ideally, it would stand up on the table for display with the help of a menu holder.
