The project was inspired from the beautiful textural tropical fruit - PINEAPPLE. Through different methods and techniques of fabric manipulation the textures and feel of the fruit was attempted.
Moodboard
Using organza and tissue fabric with pleating and quilting technique replicated the look of pineapple flesh.
Depicting the thorny leaves of pineapple with the technique of tie dyeing and heat set of polyester fabric.
The outer skin by tie dyeing and spot dyeing of felt fabric.
The texture on the leaves by stitching and sandwiching of layers of paper and fabric to achieve the white texture.
The scales on the skin with slit and insert technique on felt fabric.
