The Volkswagen Golf R has superior power and handling compared to any other car in its class. But due to a shortage of test-drive cars we couldn’t get everyone to experience it hands on.

 

How can we show high-performance drivability in a low-cost way?

 

We created a magazine insert with the Golf R riding on the edge of the magazine itself. We placed these magazines in the waiting area of Volkswagen service centres all across the country. A message on the cover asked people to twist and bend the magazine to see how the Golf R performs. Every time people bent the magazine, they could see the little Golf R handle sharp turns with perfect control. It was a simple idea that turned a magazine insert into a test drive.
