The Swiss private bank Pictet engages with data, charts and graphs every day in order to assist their clients in investment banking. Following our project for monthly investor reports, we have been commissioned to create new set of icons for relevant banking terminology and topics, such as "Central Bank", "Interest Rate", "US Dollar", and so on. The aim was to produce a universal graphic language of banking related icons.
The team was challenged with the task to create a universal system with a unique visual alphabet. We opted for an icon design that is entirely composed of lines in order to make the icons adaptable to various sizes, colors and mediums. The visual grammar is created to unify abstract and concrete terms successfully. The complete system is based on the Corporate Identity of Pictet and even extending the definitions regarding the new topic of icons.
