Traditional 4-plate colour etching process
test four-plate image
printing the 'yellow' plate first
. note the registration marks on the side which ensure future plate registration
The 'red' plate is printed next
the combination of the red and yellow plates produces midtones
the third 'blue' plate is printed next
the print obtained by printing the first three plates in order of yellow, red, blue
finally, the black plate is printed
traditional four plate colour etching produces a full colour image with a spectrum of colours (= CMYK)
final image - 'Clones of Eve'
