Logo Development
In talking more with the company owner, Bethany, it was important to her that I display growth in the logo. She liked the idea of displaying this using the lotus flower, open hands, and similar symbols that are prevalent in massage company logos. I made several different mockups that incorporated a few stylized interpretations of a lotus with a plain B, but we decided that it was too plain for the company.
After a round of revisions I came up with a way to keep all of the things Bethany was looking for in one logo. I decided to make the hand the main focus of the logo, rather than a lotus itself. Then in order to keep a feminine and floral look to it, I tweaked the thumb and pinky fingers to mimic a lotus flower shape. To add further to this theme, I used a purple and green color scheme and accentuated the shape with leaf-like embellishments.
Once I got the final "OK" from my client I produced five different variations on the logo and provided it in different forms so she would be able to use it on any platform she could possibly think of.
Flier Design
A few months later I decided to expand on this project a bit more. I tried to make a flyer for Bodywork by Bethany using the text from her website, and some of the past work that I had done for her. I took it through all stages of development, just as I would in sending it to a printshop. This is the final product that I ended up with.
