SAM is a clothing rack, made entirely out of carboard corners. The concept of SAM is reusing packaging that is usually disposed to create a minimal, easy to make and cheap object. SAM virtually costs nothing to assemble, is very light, and serves it’s function as a clothing rack. 

 

Cardboard corners are used to protect furniture corners while transporting. Plenty of them are thrown away every day, after serving only one purpose. the main benefit of cardboard corners is their structure. The shape is fairly resistant to bending, this allows to make relatively rigid constructions which can hold light weighs, for example clothing. The anlge is bent in a way it’s not easy to straighten the cardboard back.

 

SAM provides all the functionality of a basic clothing rack. As standard, the top rod is used to hang clothing, and the grill in the bottom is for shoe storing. The rack is relatively easy to make, has a minimal aesthetic and is actually quite useful.
