ZOE is a vase holder made completely of felt. The brief of the project was to create any kind of product starting
from any material. The objective was, through researching and studying the chosen material, to design something that took best advantage of the material’s characteristics. Felt is a permeable, hygroscopic, porous, absorbent, elastic, insulating and resistant material. Therefore, I decided to use its abilities to absorb humidity without dripping excess water and to slowly release back this absorbed water to realize, after learning how to make the material, a pot that can be watered and that can feed the plant itself. Felt’s property to be flexible permits easy distribution in shops and houses.
