The Sustainable Shoe Box

This was an exercise with Idiom Design and Consulting, Bangalore. The challenge was to present easily executable ideas around increasing the life of shoe packaging. We used design as intervention, to prototype two concepts for a reusable hand bag.

The first intervention is at the time of manufacture - by using materials that are durable, locally available and culturally relevant such as Khadi. The second possibility is to reach out to users through DIY exercises urging them to reuse. Thus, through the use of accessories and the addition of simple diecuts in the format, the shoebox could be transformed into stylish and sturdy bags.
