Digi Sans - Typeface for Wearable Devices

Problem

As the technology field evolves, society is confronted by a typographic program on digital screens. Many individuals using wearables, mobiles, tablets, and laptops, constantly experience visual constants associated with the typography on their devices. These problems are resulted due to the variety of available screen resolutions and dimensions within the technological field. Rendering out typography on small and low-resolution digital devices can be difficult, as low-resolution screens do not have the capacity to handle the fine and thin details of a typeface. Typefaces also have problems being legible and readable while being confined to small dimension. Viewers often have difficulties differentiating between letters, at small scale.
Solution

Digi Sans is a universal typeface, inspired by the font Source Sans. Digi Sans is designed to improve legibility on different electronic screens, ideal for body copy and headlines. For the best pictorial representation, this typeface should be viewed at a 6pt or higher on digital wearable interfaces. Compared to other typefaces, Digi Sans has larger e’s and o’s. All other letters have a wider kern and greater x-heights to enhance its legibility while maintaining an appealing appearance. The overall physical stroke of each letter is rounded off to create a friendly and neutral vibe when viewed by the user. Each character represents a sense of individuality, but at the same time unifies each unit together as one whole. For an example, when placed at the end of the word, the lowercase letter ‘i’ has a curved characteristic. However, if amidst the word, the lowercase letter ‘i’ has a straight characteristic to enable viewers to differentiate between letters during speed reading. These characteristics are influential and crucial to the overall physical and function esthetic of Digi Sans.
Currently, still in a work in progress but would love feedback or to chat about it!
