Decoding a Virus

In After Effects, I wanted to create a scene that was on a cellular scale, as if the camera was an electron microscope inside the blood stream. I started by pulling it backwards in Z-space, so that it slowly showed one of the virus's tentacles.

In Cinema4D, I used the proximal effect and a Boolean NURBS to expose segments of each letter in VIRUS
I also modelled a complete 2nd virus in Cinema4D. This one also has a pulsating core and moving legs.
Also in Cinema4D, I used the Proximal effect to pass an 'infection' effect through some of the letters. The renders took hours just for 3-second clips, but they were well worth it.
