Love Letters
An exploration of letter structure
Thestark contrast between harsh geometric shapes and flowing movement, mixed withthe raw excitement of being out in public to make a statement drew me into theworld of Graffiti.
Mycurrent body of work is influenced by Graffiti although Cubist and Minimalistideas have influenced how I approach the construction of my letters. I look at theelements of each letter and strip them down to their most fundamental andessential features. By distorting these geometric shapes, I form the letterstructure into an object with movement and balance.
Theuse of spray paint on cement is a direct link to the act of vandalizing, butthe addition of silver letter forms turns these sometimes scorned materialsinto something precious.

In this case, Graffiti is used to decorate the body in the form of Jewellery.
