Come in un ecosistema peli, caccole e punti neri vivono in simbiosi.
L'inquinamento metropolitano ne ha mutato i connotati: i punti neri divenuti biomecanici si accaniscono nei loro pertugi aggrappati con gli artigli, i peli storditi e con gli occhi gonfi di sangue lottano come alberi contro le piogge acide, le caccole in tenuta da corpi speciali della F.B.I. restano aggrappate ai peli con le loro attrezzature d'arrampicata e non si lasciano estirpare coi metodi tradizionali.
