Ociaj Wooden Glasses • From the trees to the frames
Ociaj, a self-production project based on digital fabrication. Lasercut glasses frames obtained from Piedmont Cherry or Walnut selfproduct multilayer wooden plate, then vapor bent as the ancient traditions, and then finally finished and assembled by hands.
CONCEPT
Idea and scenery
The idea was to revolutionase the world of products, starting to make them by ourself, using the machineries in the local Fablabs. An open source project to understand that waste is not possible anymore, and that everybody can make their own products by themselves.

From CAD to materic models
The lasercut allows to transforms the 2D drawnigs in real models, cutting and engraving wood. Then with traditional tools and hand working the frames are finished.
COMMUNICATION

Real and virtual network
The communication has took place on social networks, using photography, storytelling and explanatory videos, and at the same time in local, national and international events, as an expositor stand. A name and a logo were studied to give an identity to the project.
