«Noite Branca 2014: A Natureza da Cidade» was a week long event of lectures and workshops that occupied the main gallery of Palácio das Artes between the 18th and the 22nd of november.
Starting from what was established on its 2012 edition by Ricardo Portilho, the visual identity of the 2nd edition has a direct dialogue with its precedent event. The changes in the visual identity reflected the differences in the event format: daytime instead of nightime and its focus on the city instead of its central park.
The dot-pattern continued to be the central element of the visual identity, as it did for the 1st edition, only its use was slightly altered: used around negative-text, thinning with distance, the dots were used to form an idea of a «cloud», spreading itself across the city.
The «cloud» provided a lot of flexibility for the events multiple design objects, adapting itself to each unique format.
In order to promote the event's contet to those who could not take part in the workshops, a newspaper was developed during the event, with contents about each guest participant and their work in the event.
